17th February 1812: One frame broken at Stanton

On Monday 17th February, 5 men entered the house of Edward Orson of Stanton, Derbyshire and destroyed one stocking frame.

There are several places called Stanton in Derbyshire, and the source of this story (the Leeds Mercury of 29th February 1812, quoting the Nottingham Review) does not specify which one. On his website about Derbyshire Luddism, Graham Stevenson shows the location as Stanton-in-the-Peak which, as far as I know, was not a location for framework-knitting. Brian Bailey (1998, p.18) shows Stanton near Newhall as the location on a map, and I think this is the Stanton in question.
