At midnight on Wednesday 3rd June 1812, Luddites conducted a raid for arms at the house of Abraham Lees at Netherton.
Lees surrendered his arms to the raiders, but this was not enough for them. They demanded money, and he gave them a guinea note and some sliver coins, but they also took his keys and searched the house for others items of value, but little else of value was found.
As reported in the Leeds Mercury of 13th June 1812.
