7th June 1812: Arms raids at Gawthorpe, near Ossett

At 2.30 a.m. on Sunday 7th June, a large group of 47 armed Luddites moved through the village of Gawthorpe and called at various houses, procuring guns and several sums of money from some of the inhabitants.

As reported in the Leeds Mercury of 13th June 1812.
