7th January 1813: 4 framework-knitters committed to Nottingham Gaol for burglary
The Derby Mercury of Thursday 7th January 1813 reported the arrest and committal to Nottingham County Gaol of four framework-knitters for burglary. Four men from Bulwell - John Marlow, James Barker, Richard Selby & William Simpson - were charged with 'feloniously and burglariousy' breaking and entering the dwelling house of Stephen Watson of Watnall on 23rd December 1812, and stealing money and other items. They would stand trial at the next Assizes in March.
