19th April 1812: A soldier commits suicide in Leeds

On Sunday 19th April 1812, a private of the Queen's Bays stationed in Leeds shot himself, dying instantly. The soldier had recently been demoted from the rank of Sergeant. An inquest subsequently decided he was suffering from 'lunacy'.
