22nd April 1812: An anonymous man goes for a shave

Michael Bentley lived at Methley. A man came to him on Wednesday 22nd April 1812 asking him if he would shave him. The man looked strange in the way he held himself, and when he shaved him it was clear that he seemed to be lame in one arm and had difficulty moving it.

He didn't find out the man's name.

This is from Howell (1823, p.1115)
